Toby Buckell's Author Advance Survey

Author Tobias Buckell has been keeping tabs on author advances for the last couple of years, and now he's asking for authors to contribute more data to the survey, the better to help us all keep tabs on what authors are really getting paid, across publishers and genres. Toby will keep all data in confidence (he's done a fine job of doing that over the last couple of iterations).

If you're interested in participating, here's the link to Toby's entry on the survey.

Tobias is doing a great job of this. Not only does it help the pros, it helps the neo's and the wannabes (I'm sitting square in that camp). It certainly helps with the perspective thing.

Thanks for the link, John! Here's hoping a lot of people fill it out :-)

Hey, since you're mentioning T.B., I just have to observe that sensible midwesterners team up to have book signings in CHICAGO, not in Koko-effing-mo. siiiighhh.

Mary, if you promise to come to the reading, I have a crew of 4-5 people working on a way to get *me* to Chicago (blink blink blink). :-)

Tobias, if you promise not to be mad that I haven't read anything of yours yet, I'd love to come meet you and hear you read. (And I'll buy stuff! And take it home and read it!). I can't promise until I know the date, because I work in IT, which tends to bitch up my calendar.

I'll even blog about it, so that my 2 readers can create a groundswell of interest! ;)
