rick gregory | May 16, 2007 12:47 PM

where's the bacon?

Jeff | May 16, 2007 12:54 PM

I just wonder if anyone's pointed you to Basic Instructions; this guy looks just like you. :-)

John Scalzi | May 16, 2007 12:58 PM

Yes, it's been pointed out that all baldish white guys look the same, thanks.

Mitchell | May 16, 2007 01:08 PM

Technically the letters should be white with a black outline. I has a standard.

Mike Cane | May 16, 2007 01:26 PM

Do you know I can interpret Cat?

That face is saying, "Make your time. All your sleep is belong to me!"

Poor you!

Christian | May 16, 2007 01:30 PM

New Subtitle!

Lee | May 16, 2007 01:43 PM

If only you can make your cat eat and poop coffee beans, you can retire or pursue other leisure activities.

Jeff | May 16, 2007 01:43 PM

Yah, that's why I'm not shaving my head anytime soon. On the other hand, it's also somewhat true that all lanky guys with long hair look alike.

You and the Basic Instructions cartoon guy also have similar snarkiness; the resemblance is more than just hair. And, I should point out that you and the actual Scott Meyer don't look at all alike; it's just in cartoon form that there's a resemblance....

Oh dear. I think my head is going to explode.

Scalzi, I take back everything. You rock!

Thought about sending that comic - opted not to.

I prefer this one anyway.

Sorry about the double post - that was just weird.

Andrew | May 16, 2007 03:01 PM

Referentially, I linked to you in the comments of the LJ feed for that comic.

Well, yeah, some - some - stereotypes are based on a grain of truth.

And I'm glad I resisted the urge to send you a link to XKCD, however I do find it insightful that so many (apparently anyway) Whatever readers are also fans of the XKCD comic. My favorite is still the "Electric Skateboard" which I have taped up in my shop. The Chicks swooning over the scientist on the electric skateboard, that just slays me. I don't know why, it's a mystery.

CaseyL | May 16, 2007 05:46 PM

I think ol' Ghlagh's decided he likes being immortalized on the intratubes. There's something very "Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my closeup!" about the look on his face.

chang, who is not chang | May 16, 2007 05:59 PM

CaseyL - please note that the Beauteous Ghlaghghee is a she (minus her ovaries and then some, evidently).

It is the Mighty Lopsided Cat who is a he.

You do not want to annoy Her Greatness by calling Her a he. Nor Her rabid and obsessed fans.

See to me, that expression says:

A bald human, a poorly scrawled sign and a camera. Oh hale no, you better NOT have bacon behind your back.

Omaha Lisa | May 16, 2007 08:23 PM

I'm with you, Kate...

Ever seen a PO'd Siamese? Even worse looks are available from them.

chang, who is not chang | May 16, 2007 09:11 PM

Scalzi, the live video of the Beauteous Ghlaghghee on By The Way was outstanding.

What a Magnificence She is.

This is indeed a great day for Ghlaghghee fans everywhere!

PS - Please, less of you in future videos and more of Her.

I must say, Scalzi's hand-written LOLCAT crosses some meme boundary that I have yet to put my finger on. Somehow it brings light to the idea that LOLCATs don't exist entirely on the internet, which is near-blasphemy.

I have a cat thats about 20 years old, now and then he'll try to kill me. I wish he had subtitles
