Mothers' Day 2007

Personally I think there's something very 80s about this picture. I suspect it's me going crazy with the checkerboards.

It's a fun picture. Happy Mother's Day to you and yours!

Thanks for the reminder to call my mother today!

mmmmm the 80s

You have a very tolerant wife to let you run that picture; she looks very tired to me.

John Scalzi | May 14, 2007 09:07 AM

Don't confuse Photoshoppery with fatigue, Shrike58. Anyway, she likes the picture.

Photo = good! Checkerboards...eh...let's just say I'm glad Tor has art directors on staff and doesn't turn the covert design process over to writers as well.

But yeah, I've seen worse too. When I was in the comics biz, I often found myself wanting to kill the guy who decided to make the oft-abused "lens flare" a Photoshop effect.

I dunno, last time I heard tired and motherhood went together like America and apple pie; no doubt you were going for the modern pieta affect.

I think it's just a darn fine image. For the 80's , early 90's, or whenever. It defintely has an aesthetic quality that connects.

late to the party as usual, but yes, very 80's in a Rick Neilsen Cheap Trick sort of groove.

Off to find my "Dream Police" 8-track.
