Milwaukee Says Hello

milwaukeesayshi.jpg

I was pleased to discover that some contingent of the audience for the Milwaukee reading actually hailed from Chicago; people actually trekked to hear me blather on. That's heartwarming indeed. Also included: My friends Sarah and Allen Monette and Karen Meisner who also trekked, albeit from the somewhat less distant Madison environs. You all make me feel pretty. Thank you.

Next up: Minneapolis -- in just a few hours, in fact, since my appearance there is at 1pm at Uncle Hugo's bookstore. You must excuse me, I have to pack and leave now. See some of you soon.

Great reading last night, and looking at the picture you took, there were more people there than I thought, so that's good. Can't wait for _The High Castle_ to come out.

All you Chicago folks who didn't make the drive, it was cake, pretty darn close to the hour and a half the mapping programs claim.

Wish I could have been there.

Of course, not having Chicago on the tour seemed a bit odd to me...

So I just finished Last Colony, thought damn, what a fine book, and went to check to see if you were on tour, only to see that I missed you in Mpls by about 4 hours. Doh.

Awesome book, and awesome series. I picked up old man's war on pure whim from Amazon when it first came out, and I've been hook on your books ever since. Can't wait for the next book in whatever new universe you decide to explore, but even if you decided to never write again, you did yourself proud with these 3.

Speaking of just finishing 'TLC'...

John, you can't just leave it like that! It's like taking a favorite show on TV and ending it on the viewers with that hint of something bigger that they'll never get to see.

*Curse you Twin Peaks!*

I will be utterly heartbroken and depressed if you never revisit. I know your stated plans in the acknowledgements, but wah!

Okay temper tantrum aside, it was awesome. It gave a dignified ending to the trilogy.

*tears*

If you (the audience of the Whatever) haven't read anything into the John Perry and Jane Sagan universe, you are truly missing out.

Hmm... It looks like you're getting more gmail spambots. How do you keep your sanity with that sort of lunacy?

Anyway, it was great catching you in Milwaukee. Hopefully you managed to enjoy your stay, and thanks again for signing my copy of TAD.

Good luck with the remainder of the tour.

I was glad to catch you yesterday at Uncle Hugo's; I'd forgotten about it and was reminded by someone as I was doing something else. I'll have to bring the other books on some other visit. You'll be happy to know that you left just in time to escape quizzing about that short person who grabbed that other person at the convention.

Milwaukee was great, definately worth the drive from Chicago. Would do it again in a heartbeat.
