News From the World of Scalzis

My sympathies go to another of the John Scalzis out there, the one who is a meteorologist down in Florida, whose father passed away the other day. Jerry Scalzi was apparently a crackerjack magician who performed magic shows with his son as his sidekick (the link includes a picture of them doing their magic act together). That's a pretty neat relationship to have with your dad, I have to say.

Just how many John Scalzis are there out there? And is this one any relation?

John Scalzi | October 1, 2006 03:41 PM

No, this one is no relation as far as I know.

I know of five other John Scalzis off the top of my head: One's my dad, one's a boxer, one's a theatrical carpenter (i.e., he works in theater), one's a masonry scientist and one (this guy) is a weatherman. None of them (other than my dad) are related to me so far as I know. I'm sure there are others as well.

Perhaps you could have shown them your amazing "Disappearing Advance" trick.

Uncle Gee was pretty amazing. I didn't know he passed away, but he'd been in poor health for a while. Thanks fo inadvertantly providing me with the link to the article.

Frankie,

Is that you? I'm gonna sound really silly if this is not the Frankie Scalzi from Garden City but if it is give me a shout!
