Dia de las Krissy

kbs060418.jpg

It's my wife Kristine Blauser Scalzi's birthday today. In my opinion, meeting her was one of the two best things ever to happen to me (the other being the birth of my daughter, which -- as it happens -- she was actively involved in as well), and there's not a day that goes by where I don't try to let her know how much better my life is because she is in it. I'm making it my goal to ensure that this next year of her life is filled with joy, happiness, and footrubs on demand. Because all of those are good things.

If you feel like wishing Krissy a happy birthday, the comment thread is an excellent place to do it.

As long as our wishes aren't replacing John's buying you a suitable gift*,

Happy Birthday, Kristine.

*I'm sure John will be producing something wonderful in a small white box. The way he talks about you, I'll bet it's very nice.

Allow me to add my voice to the growing din of birthday wishes, Krissy...

CoolBlue | April 18, 2006 11:48 AM

Did you know that Krissy shares a birthday with Clarence Darrow? And while we're on the subject of Clarences, she also shares a birthday with one of my fav musicians Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown. Way cool.

This is also the 83rd Birthday of Yankee stadium! As well as the 25th Anniversary of the longest professional Baseball game in History (between two minor league teams the Rochester Red Wings and the Pawtucket Red Sox).

Hell, a lot to celebrate, but of course Krissy's birthday is at the top 'o the heap.

My guess is that after what John wrote, you could get just about anything you wanted today, so

Enjoy!

Did I miss Longest Professional Baseball Game Day again? It's so hard to find greeting cards when you do it at the last minute...

Anyway, Happy Birthday Krissy, from yet another person who doesn't really know you, but hears about you from your husband all the time...

Happy Birthday, Krissy! Thank you for making John so happy, because a happy John is a happy readership (both analog and digital)!

I don't believe in the suffering artist myth, and clearly, neither does John.

Bud Zeman | April 18, 2006 11:30 PM

A bit late, coming from from the West Coast,
so Happy Birthday Krissy! Wish you lots of love,

April birthdays rule! (Mine's on the 27th.)

Jim | April 19, 2006 01:58 PM

Sorry I'm a day late, but nevertheless I want to extend my best wishes to Krissy for her natal anniversary and for the year ahead.

And I must also say that I agree with Martin about April birthdays (yeah, mine's the 29th).
