Music Selection 11/9/04

On suggestion: "Coin Operated Boy" by the Dresden Dolls. This is what happens when you let your kids listen to too much Brecht and Weill. I will note personally that I find the song works better accompanied by the video (high bandwidth | low bandwidth).

That's awesome. It reminds me a little of Little Jack Melody and his Young Turks, a group that is very much influenced by Kurt Weill.

I like that album, and (according to reports from the girlfriend and others) the live show is pretty awesome as well---they play the whole Punk Cabaret thing to the hilt.

Weirdest thing: I actually heard it on the radio this weekend!

Thank you for posting the video. I heard it on the radio coming home one night from our local Ren-Faire this season and came into the house singing it. Thank you big time.

That entire album is actually one of my favorites right now. "Good Day" is another really good song from it (the first track).
