Cubism is Alive and Well and Wants a Juice Box

athenatrain.jpg

"Look, it's a train," Athena explains, and damned if it isn't. The question is whether it's a train because she intended it to be a train, of if it's a train because she was just doodling and that's the closest actual object to what she's doodled. I'd ask her, but that seems like an imposition on the creative process, if you ask me.

That is *definitely* a train.

I'm with Chris. That's a train with intent.

Try her on chinese calligraphy brushes. Even _I_ can paint bamboo with those things.

I thought it was a sphinx... or a station wagon beside a no parking sign under a fluffy white clou- Oh, I see the train!

She seems to be in her Red Period.

That's a train. With a giant shovel attached to the top, of course.

Is there a dog on the train? I don't like art unless it has a dog in it.

I saw that as the smoke coming out. But a shovel is good, too.

Hee. That's the funniest thing I've read all day. Okay, it's only 10.45 in the morning, but still....

Personally, I think it's a Transformer midway between its train and Tyrannosaurus Rex forms.

I thought Athena did a marvelous job of capturing the sonic impact of the steam whistle as the train approached the station!

Nice, but my seven year old did the same thing and exclaimed "This is *not* a train."

Very deep. Very very deep.
